Friends make the world go around.
We’re delighted that our friends at The Book Vine offers a bundle of all our books, so you can indulge your curiosity and interest in Indian culture.
The Book Vine recently featured Sue in their newsletter. Here’s a bit of the interview:
1. Where do you find the inspiration for your books?
My books are about India, and my inspiration comes from my upbringing in India. When thinking about what book to write next, I think back to those fond memories of my childhood, with the rich tapestry of colors, tastes, and smells.
I’m also inspired by nature and the wisdom gained through reading – or stimulating conversations with friends and family members. Our cherished family gatherings at afternoon teatime are a continual source of inspiration.
2. What is the most rewarding part of being a children’s book author?
The act of creation is the most rewarding and fulfilling part of being an author. Going from a blank page to a published book can be an arduous and even circuitous path. But it’s a worthwhile one. Because in the end, I feel like every book I put out has the possibility of inspiring young people. I even hope that some of the children who read my books will grow up to be authors themselves.
3. What is your favorite part of a school visit?
Sharing our stories with children, parents, and educators. I love story time when I’m able to read aloud to curious young minds. I enjoy hearing their questions and seeing their imaginations bloom. Moreover, the anticipation of warm hugs from these eager young minds adds an extra layer of delight to every school visit.
We’re also thankful that that they created this 90 Second Book Look at our books.
