
The Recipe
Makes: 4-6 rotis (depending upon the size and amount of filling)
Aloo Ki Roti is made by stuffing a spiced mashed potato filling inside whole wheat dough balls, creating a soft and flavorful individual paratha
Utensils needed:
- Large bowl for kneading the dough or a Cuisinart or dough maker
- One bowl to mix the potato filling
- A rolling pin
- Flat surface
- A griddle or heavy bottom frying pan
- Spatula to flip and press the roti while cooking
- Small bowl with water to seal the edges of the dough when stuffing the filling
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 2 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Water (as needed)
- 1 teaspoon oil
For the Filling:
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (optional
