
The Recipe
Crispy, spiced fritters made with chickpea flour.
Needed Utensils:
- Mixing bowl
- Deep frying pan or kadai
- Slotted spoon
- Paper towels
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of kale (chopped)
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 1–2 tbsp rice flour (for extra crispiness, optional)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- Water (as needed)
- Oil (for deep frying)
Cooking Method:
- In a mixing bowl, combine besan, rice flour, turmeric, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt.
- Add chopped kale to the mixture.
- Gradually add water and mix to form a thick batter (not too runny).
- Heat oil in a deep-frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop small portions of batter into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
